I started writing code 15+ years ago as a hobby. Languages, both linguistic and digital, have always appealed to me.
More recently, I began studying design as I've wanted to make things look pretty, too. Now, fresh off a full-stack web development bootcamp, I work as a freelance developer.
These are some of the technologies I leverage for full-stack web development and design. I'm constantly trying to improve and add to the list.
I've had many passions (aka obsessions) since I was a teenager. Too many to name. But here are the heavy hitters. After finishing a Master's degree in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2013, I started working as a translator. On top of Russian, I've added Ukrainian and Spanish to my repertoire, and still translate today.
In high school, I got into solving Rubik's cubes and competed in speed solving competitions for years. And yes, I can solve it blindfolded. This love of puzzles brought me much later to chess.
A couple years ago, I moved to Charlotte, NC to teach chess at schools in the area. I was mobile as a freelancer, and I thought this would be a fun way to make chess a permanent fixture in my life. In addition to teaching chess, I play in tournaments regularly, and am working hard to one day become a master.
When I'm not chessing, translating, or coding, I like to read, cycle, and meditate. I've also written poetry and short stories, and am currently working on my first novel.
